Neurodiverse Relationship Library
It can be challenging to find the right resources that speak to your experiences and expand your knowledge when you're in a neurodiverse relationship. I've rounded up a few of my favorite links from a wide variety of perspectives to help you learn more.
A few things to note:
Each person on the autism spectrum is unique and each neurodiverse relationship is unique. While these resources offer language and insights that may resonate with you and apply to your relationship, they may also miss the mark in some instances. Use whatever is helpful to you and set aside anything that doesn't serve you or your relationship.
Language regarding autism is continually evolving and different people hold different preferences regarding how they refer to themselves and their experiences of autism (such as: autistic, on the spectrum, neurodivergent, Aspergers, aspie, etc). You'll find a variety of terms and labels in these resources, each reflecting the preferences of the writer or story teller. It is my practice as a therapist (and as a person) to use the preferred language of each individual I meet.
