Hi, I'm Laurie!
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience, I specialize in working with neurodiverse and mixed-neurotype relationships — helping clients embrace their unique strengths and challenges with self-compassion and confidence.
I believe in the power of connection and the beauty of diversity, and I approach therapy with respect for each person’s resourcefulness, resiliency, and values. Outside of the office, I’m a parent, partner, traveler, lifelong learner and practitioner of self-compassion.

MY APPROACH
Compassionate Support for Complex Connections
I chose the field of Marriage and Family Therapy because it centers on our inherent interconnectedness. My approach is rooted in postmodern counseling methods, which honor your experiences and invite new ways of thinking about yourself and your relationships.
For neurodiverse couples, I facilitate conversations that build authentic understanding and creative problem-solving. I help my clients develop self-compassion and partner-compassion as foundational practices that expand good relating to both self and other. Whether you’re navigating challenges or celebrating growth, I’m here to support you in discovering what’s possible.

MORE ABOUT LAURIE
Beyond my work as a therapist, I’m deeply engaged in building connections within the mental health community. I founded CanalScape Counseling Collective to create a collaborative environment for therapists and co-moderate a networking group for Autism Clinicians in Central Indiana.
I love teaching and training other clinicians about neurodiverse relationships and adult neurodiversity. I'm honored to have presented at numerous conferences and events, including the Indiana Association for Marriage & Family Therapy and The Neurodiverse Love Conference.
I have personal lived experience in neurodiverse relationships both within my family of origin and in the family I've created with my spouse.

I value each person's uniqueness and welcome clients from all backgrounds, embracing diversity in race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and neurological wiring.
