welcome to the "roadmap" you need to navigate
your neurodiverse relationship with intention, honesty, & compassion
Tired of feeling lost, frustrated, and lonely in your neurodiverse relationship? I'd love to travel alongside you to help you find your way forward. With my 6-session Relationship Roadmap Coaching Process, I'll guide you every step of the way as you build an easier, more satisfying relationship with your partner. Through education, worksheets, exercises, and powerful questions you'll discover the tools and resources you need to support yourself and your partner as you love across neurological differences.
Together, we'll cover the following topics:
Session 1: Getting Started–We'll lay the foundation for our process together by identifying your neurodiverse relationship strengths & challenges as well as establishing “rules of the road” (expectations and guidelines) within your relationship.
Session 2: Your Roadmap–We'll create a neurodiversity-informed "map" of your relationship, taking a closer look at your unique brains and how your brains interact with one another.
Session 3: Your Destination–We'll clarify your wants and needs in your relationship with attention to navigating differing wants and needs rooted in neurodiversity.
Session 4: Your Compass–We'll work on a key emotional shift: developing compassion for yourself and for your partner, giving you new tools that can guide your reactions and responses within your relationship.
Session 5: Your Vehicle–We'll practice developing routines and communication structures that enable you and your partner to work together to meet each other’s needs.
Session 6: The Road From Here–We'll look back at our work together, celebrating and expressing appreciation for what you've accomplished together; we'll also look forward and identify ways you can continue building on your knowledge and successes.

By the end of our coaching progress, you'll have a "map" for understanding your relationship, clarity about the "destination" you're working to to reach, trust in your twice-compassionate "compass" to guide you along the way, and a reliable "vehicle" for moving you toward deeper satisfaction in your relationship.

couples coaching
Participating in coaching together with your partner is recommended when possible, as this allows all of us to work together to ensure you're understanding one another and meaningfully co-creating your relationship. In order for couples coaching to be a good fit for your needs, it is important that you both feel comfortable using a neurodiversity-lens to understand your relationship. You should both also be committed to the process, willing to invest time and energy outside of sessions, and open to shifting your attitudes and behaviors in the relationship.
Couples coaching is not appropriate for couples where one partner is not sure about utilizing a neurodiversity-lens to understand the relationship (please consider individual coaching or a single session consultation instead).
It is also not a good fit for couples in acute relationship distress (serious contemplation of divorce, frequent volatile conflicts, emotional/physical abuse, complete breakdown of effective communication, etc) or when one or both partners is experiencing acute or untreated serious mental health issues that profoundly impact daily functioning.
Group couples coaching is available for those who need a lower cost option or who would feel more comfortable in a group setting. Group participation is a great way to feel less isolated and more supported in the unique joys and challenges of neurodiverse relationships. If you are interested in group couples coaching, please join my interest list here.
individual coaching
When couples coaching isn't right for you and your partner, individual coaching is a great alternative. Our work will focus more on you, including your self-understanding, your attitudes and behaviors in the relationship, what you can and can't do to make changes (what is and isn't within your control)--with extra emphasis on the practice of self-compassion.
We'll explore ways you can engage your partner in conversations that will help you better understand them and we'll make some educated guesses about your partner's experiences and perspectives as well. Individual coaching is available to partners of all neurotypes.
Individual coaching may also be appropriate for:
-Neurodivergent adults who want to better understand and improve their relationship experiences broadly/generally, including those who may not currently be in a romantic relationship
-Neurotypical adults who have adult neurodivergent family members (parents, children, siblings) that they want to relate to more effectively
-Adults of any neurotype who are in a neurodiverse relationship and want support in considering divorce or separation; we'll apply the same framework with a focus on helping you assess whether or not this relationship is right for you.
-Adults of any neurotype who are seeking to understand a neurodiverse relationship that has ended, with attention to lessons and insights that can support you in future relationships
If you're interested in individual neurodiverse relationship coaching, but you don't see yourself described here, go ahead and reach out to me for a free consultation and we can discuss whether or not this process is right for you together.
Important Note: Coaching is not therapy and is not intended to treat any mental health issues or mental illnesses. Coaching may be an appropriate addition to come alongside existing therapy services, but it is not a substitute for mental health treatment. Coaching clients who exhibit symptoms of untreated mental health issues will be referred to appropriate providers and coaching may need to be paused or terminated.
